Pumpkin Spice Cupcake in New York’s NoLita

Sadly, Thanksgiving is over, but November is not which means this is probably the last opportunity I get to feature my favorite fall treat before the upswing of Christmas sweets, treats, music, and overall joyful spirit.  It has been a month filled with things to be thankful for and I hope you all were able to spend time with family, friends, and good food.

A cozy, comfortable, cute corner shop with lots of windows, Little Cupcake Bakeshop is located on 30 Prince Street in New York City’s Manhattan neighborhood of NoLita.  This area is known for its chic shopping, hand-made jewelry, and artwork.  They also have two Brooklyn locations on 9102 Third Avenue, and 598 Vanderbilt Avenue.

Starting on the first day of Fall, Little Cupcake Bakeshop offers a delicious pumpkin spice cupcake with a cream cheese frosting that will leave you wanting three more.  The contrast between the light fluffy cupcake and the denser frosting was a perfect combination, and the sugar to spice ratio was just perfect.

In 2016 Little Cupcake Bakeshop was featured on Food & Wine’s Best Chocolate Cakes in the USA for their Brooklyn Blackout.

“Our Brooklyn Blackout Cake is moist chocolate cake filled with chocolate ganache and chocolate buttercream, made with Dutch-process, full-fat-content cocoa from Holland, semisweet Belgian chocolate and Madagascar vanilla beans,” he says. The “blackout” effect comes from frosting it with two types of chocolate icing.

Little Cupcake Bakeshop is the perfect location for small groups or families with little kids, there are a few tables, and even vegan and gluten free options to consider everyone in the party.  It is also the perfect place for a good one on one catch up with old or new friends alike.

The prices for coffee and tea were reasonable, but the best part is that they also offered blends from one of my favorite tea companies; Harney & Sons. I am so glad I was able to share this bakeshop with you guys and I hope you get to try it!  Next time I visit, I’ll be trying their Brooklyn Chocolate Cake and I’ll let you guys know if it’s a new chocolatey favorite.  Let me know in the comments below what you tried at Little Cupcake Bakeshop!

Lots of love,
